HHS Increases Stockpile of Flu Antiviral Tamiflu

Officials hope to reduce the strain on healthcare facilities this winter.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) made additional rounds of Tamiflu available to regional healthcare jurisdictions, hoping to address an increase in flu cases this winter season. Those who have caught COVID-19 recently may be more susceptible to catching the flu later, and the HHS is even prepared to access the Strategic National Stockpile of antiviral medications to help states stay ahead of a spike in flu cases.

“We have made it clear to every Governor that the Biden-Harris Administration stands ready to assist with resources and supplies,” said HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra. “State stockpiles can be utilized, and if jurisdictions need access to the Strategic National Stockpile, they now have it to respond to the current seasonal flu outbreak.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For discernment for Secretary Becerra as he supports the states in preparing for flu cases.
  • For Americans who are fighting or recovering from the current strain of COVID.
